The International Trade Union Confederation - Asia Pacific (ITUC-AP) was formed by the ICFTU - Asian and Pacific Regional Organisation (ICFTU-APRO) and the Brotherhood of Asian Trade Unions (BATU) on 4 September 2007 in Bangalore, India. It now has a paying membership of over 24 million and an effective membership of 60 million in 59 national trade union centres from 34 countries and territories in the Asian and Pacific region.

The ITUC-AP, as an organic part of the ITUC, strives for economic, social and political justice, in short, Decent Work, through trade union actions, on the basis of the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, UN Declarations and other international instruments.
