CONTAG – Confederação Nacional dos Trabalhadores Rurais Agricultores e Agricultoras Familiares

The National Confederation of Agricultural Workers (CONTAG) celebrated its 50th anniversary on December 22, 2013. It unites today 27 Agricultural Workers’ Federations and more than 4,000 Workers’ and Rural Workers’ Trade Unions, which fight for the rights of more than 15.7 million men and women living in rural and forested areas. They represent a.o. family farmers, rural workers, sharecroppers, extractivists, and artisanal and riverine fishermen.
