Arab American University is a private institution founded in 1996 as the first private Palestinian university, and began teaching on September, 2000. The university is supervised by a selected Board of Trustees, who subscribe to the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education, implementing an American education system, in affiliation with California State University and Utah State University. The town of Zababdeh is located nearby, within 2km.
It serves the educational needs of Palestine inside and outside Palestine and offers excellent educational opportunities for students in a number of relevant educational fields.
