Supporting civil society, women and vulnerable workers
Description
The project will train the workers, with specific attention to the rights of workers and the specificity of women, so that they can assist vulnerable workers and workers of brick kilns in the provinces of Punjab and KhyberPakhtunkhwa.
The project will also promote the dialogue with civil society actors and institutions close to the world of work, in order to contribute to a better understanding and dissemination of knowledge on the problems faced by the workers and their needs, particularly in the furnaces and the role of the union in the civil society in Pakistan.
In order to support working women and men of the kilns (furnaces), both inside and outside of the workplace, as well as training courses and discussions, provide legal services and facilitate access to public education for their children.
Objectives
Improve working conditions and living standards of workers in Pakistan and in particular of women and the most vulnerable workers as the brik kiln workers, where bounded labour is still in use, ensuring adequate protection of their rights and their ability to generate a decent income to support their families.
