RED SOL IV PROJECT: new approaches, new responses

duration: 1 year 1 month (From 18 August 2019 to 17 September 2020)
budget: 50,000 EUR

Description
"RED SOL IV PROJECT: new approaches, new responses" gives continuity to the development and realization of previous projects and is in line with the policy of global citizenship and development cooperation in the Spanish region Extremadura.

In this new stage, Red Sol considers a sector anchor in the 2030 Agenda focused on its SDGs and targets dedicated to Cooperation, Environment, Equality and Peace, with a territorial focus; at the same time, the strengthening of the DNGO (NGO in sector of development) sector is proposed through the achievement of a Gender and Equality Strategy, where the Extremadura Coordinator will play a leading role. All this will contribute to the improvement of labor rights and living conditions of the people involved in the Extremaduran cooperation, and to achieve higher levels of equality

Objectives
General objective: Improve knowledge and promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda among social agents and in the world of work, with a gender and environmental focus
Specific objective: Advance in the achievement of SDGs 5 and 8, on Equality and Decent Work, among the Extremadura cooperation agents, mainly women, through the improvement of knowledge and practical strategies

Type of activities
The project integrates different actions:
The sector anchoring is carried out through thematic workshops, the first focused on the analysis of cooperation and protection of the environment in the framework of the 2030 Agenda, and the contribution of Extremadura organizations to its achievement. The second focuses on Gender Equality, considered from a sectoral approach (such as a specific SDG within the Agenda) that will be completed by the analysis of gender mainstreaming throughout the 2030 Agenda. The third focuses on SDG 16 on Peace and Security, focusing on the peace process in Colombia, for which there will be a mission of representatives of Colombian civil and union society that allows an exchange of experiences, they will share their experience, the peace process, the current situation, challenges and possible collaborations will be identified.

The preparation of a union guide on the SDGs will bring the world of work in Extremadura, the 2030 Agenda, its SDGs and the possible contributions that can be made from each of the professional sectors closer to the world of work. In the same sense, but with a broader scope, a union report on the SDGs will be prepared, where each SDGs and targets will be analyzed, including the priorities from a union point of view, the starting situation in Extremadura for each one of them (diagnosis) and proposals for improvement.

Another of the main elements of the project is the improvement of the working conditions of the Extremaduran cooperation agents and the achievement of higher levels of equality in Extremaduran society, which will be promoted, through a participatory process, of a Strategy of Equality of the Extremaduran DNGO.
