The Metal and Allied Namibian Worker’s Union – MANWU, the second industrial union under the umbrella body of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW in Namibia) was founded on 24th May 1987. The Metal Allied Namibian Workers Union brings together about 90% of the skilled, semi-skilled and laborers’ working in the Metal, Building, Engineering, Motors, Plastic, Wood industry and other related sectors. The union has a total membership of 13 000 workers of whom 0.9% are women.
