The Social Observatory Institute is a nonprofit organization that aims to generate knowledge for the labor world
With national and international coverage, the IOS conducts research and specialized studies, methodologies and participatory processes that contribute to the industrial action, social dialogue and sustainable development.

Created in 1997 by the Unified Workers’ Central (CUT), the IOS has the support of the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies (Cedec), the Inter-Union Department of Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese), and the Inter-University Studies and research on Work (Unitrabalho).
