Haiti: Building Union Capacity to Democratically Represent Workers and Participate in Civic Engagement

duration: 1 year 2 months (From 1 May 2020 to 30 June 2021)
budget: not communicated

Objective 1: To build the capacity of unions and worker organizations to organize and democratically represent workers in Haiti

Objective 2: To build the capacity of garment sector unions to conduct effective advocacy and foster civic engagement in Haiti

To address the challenges that Haitian workers face at the workplace and in their communities and, more broadly, as citizens impacted by the deepening political and economic crisis, unions and other worker organizations must effectively harness worker demand for improved labor and living conditions, strong institutions, and the rule of law. In this context, the Center will continue to build the capacity of partners to organize and represent workers, as well as conduct advocacy and foster civic engagement
