“Decent Work: the creation of decent jobs, rights at work, social protection and social dialogue”
Description
The program of CGSLB and its SSO, Movement for International Solidarity (MIS) aims to focus on three thematic areas. On these themes we would work together with ITUC-Africa to future deepen it, through a series of “advocacy oriented research” studies and workshops concerning:
“Financial mechanism for social protection” directed towards the implementation of the R204
Just Transition: a place for the implementation of the R204 in climate change
“Health in all policies”; OHS important part of the implementation of the R204
We believe that by working on these elements we will not only be able to contribute to the ILO Decent Work Agenda, but to the UN Agenda 2030, as well as to the AU agenda 2063.
Objective
Strengthened trade union partners have improved social dialogue (SDG 16.7), as a right and a governance instrument for all precarious workers in the formal and informal economy, in contribution to a just transition from the informal to the formal economy (ILO Recommendation 204, SDG 8.3, 8.5 & 8.8), with attention to gender and age equality (SDG 5.1 & 5.2), and the environment (SDG 13.2).
