CIFA-Ethiopia was born of a group of CIFA Kenya and concerned Ethiopian professionals of pastoral origin. Pastoralists’ development bottlenecks necessitated the need for continuity and compliments CIFA development activities across the border into Southern Ethiopia.

CIFA-Ethiopia endeavours to address the social-economical challenges around pastoralist communities in Southern Ethiopia through linkages with CIFA-Kenya.

To Broaden CIFA initiative’s international outreach, with particular regards to pastoralists’ developments, an independent global charity Initiative with its headquarters in the United Kingdom, CIFA Trust (www.cifauk.org.uk) was found in the year 2006.
