The FLAI is a category of the CGIL trade union which organizes agricultural workers and workers in the food processing industry.

Its fundamental principles statuary is to protect, defend and promote the individual and collective rights of workers (full-time employees and full-term, seasonal and casual) and strengthen solidarity among all permanent workers, temporary workers and unemployed.

The FLAI based its policies on the improvement and protection of living and working conditions and on the defense and the preservation of health, environment and territory.

The FLAI works to strengthen the unity of the trade union movement in Italy and Europe.
