Cestas, Centre for Health Education and Appropriate Health Technologies (Centro di Educazione Sanitaria e Tecnologie Appropriate Sanitarie), was born in Bologna on the 30 March 1979 to combat inequalities and fight for universal respect for human rights, on the basis of equity, social justice and solidarity.

Cestas is committed to the creation of a global partnership between the North and South of the world to reduce the unacceptable imbalances. In international cooperation it sees the tool for the creation of bridges between the local and the global, between women and men, for the development of a culture and a reality of solidarity and equality between people.
