Advancing Internationally Recognized Migrant Worker Rights Along the Andaman Sea (Global: Advancing International Labor Rights - Thailand)

Objective 1: Strengthen the capacity of CSOs and worker associations to organize and advocate for access to justice and improved protections for migrant workers

Objective 2: Improve access to legal support for migrant workers to exercise their freedom of expression against labor rights violations and defamation prosecutions

The overall goal of the project in Thailand is to increase migrant workers’ use of freedom of expression and association rights and social protections in the agriculture, construction, fishing and seafood processing, and hospitality sectors along key Andaman Sea coastal and neighboring provinces of Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket. The specific objectives of this project are to: 1) strengthen the capacity of CSOs and worker associations to organize and advocate for access to justice and improved protections for migrant workers; and 2) improve access to legal support for migrant workers to exercise their freedom of expression against labor rights violations and defamation prosecutions.
