Supporting civil society, women and vulnerable workers

duration: 2 years (From 1 June 2014 to 31 May 2016)
budget: 700,000 EUR

Description
The project will train the workers, with specific attention to the rights of workers and the specificity of women, so that they can assist vulnerable workers and workers of brick kilns in the provinces of Punjab and KhyberPakhtunkhwa.
The project will also promote the dialogue with civil society actors and institutions close to the world of work, in order to contribute to a better understanding and dissemination of knowledge on the problems faced by the workers and their needs, particularly in the furnaces and the role of the union in the civil society in Pakistan.
In order to support working women and men of the kilns (furnaces), both inside and outside of the workplace, as well as training courses and discussions, provide legal services and facilitate access to public education for their children.

- Leadership skills
- Legal assistance
- Support in negotiation with kiln landlords

Expected outcomes
Workers trained as paralegals and experts in matters of harassment and abuse in the workplace.
