Immediate Objective:
The organizational capacity of NIFECM and its basic trade unions have been strengthened to protect and prevent workers from HIV/AIDS discrimination and infections in mining industries in Ethiopia.

Development Objective:
To contribute to reducing HIV/AIDS discrimination and stigmatization in high-risk mining sectors in Ethiopia.

Working methods
- Policy development workshops on HIV/AIDS endorsed by NIFECM leadership
- Training of trainers to promote HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation measures joint safety committees at mining sites.
- Training union leaders and resource persons on local bargaining and HIV/AIDS prevention.
- HIV/AIDS campaigning on prevention and behavioural change in local mining communities and at mining sites.
