Labor rights for women (LRW) project

duration: 4 years (From 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2015)
budget: 42,731 EUR

LRW project is the continuation of the Decision for Life (DFL) project. The target group is women particularly women who work in services sector especially in Jakarta, Banten, West Java and East Java.

The objective of this project is to :
1. Increase awareness on women workers rights and decent working condition including the strategy to achieve women workers rights.
2. Increase awaraness on balancing between work and family
3. Increase awareness on the importance to joint trade unions particularly for women.
4. Increase negotiation skills of women

Working methodes to achieve the objectives:
1. Producing and distributing campaign materials ( scarf: 200 pieces, T-shirt: 100 pcs, booklet: 1000 pcs, pen: 1000 pcs and 500 pieces modules of training for women
2. Conducting gender training. This project will train more than 200 women workers and 4 CBA’s will be established.
3. Mobile Support Unit, through compliance form. The form will be filled in by member at company level who felt that the working condition is not decent.
4. Network meeting, a series of follow-up reporting on working condition under mobile support unit activity which collecte the female members who have the potential to lead, organize and negotiate for strategic trade union work
