IIWE programme 2012-2016 - Labour rights and Social Dialogue - Component 1 - South Africa/CONSAWU

Specific objective : A strengthened CONSAWU has in South Africa promoted access to social dialogue and application of workers’ rights for workers in general - and for youth, domestic workers and farm workers in particular - with a focus on gender and environment

Strategy : Strengthening of capacities
Results 1 (at the level of service development) :
1.1. CONSAWU has national and sectoral trade union leaders who have developed relevant policy proposals - with special attention to youngsters, domestic servants and farm laborers,
1.2. CONSAWU has delegates and sectoral trade union leaders who have better represented workers at company level,
1.3. CONSAWU has sectoral trade union leaders who have better represented domestic and farm workers at the workplace,
1.4. Youth are better represented within CONSAWU
Result 2 (at organisational level) : CONSAWU has increased the number of its members and its level of financial autonomy
Result 3 (at institutional level) : CONSAWU has sensitized public, employees and government regarding its policy proposals
