IIWE program 2012-2016 - Workers rights and Social Dialogue - Component 4 - DRCongo/CSC

duration: 5 years (From 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2016)
budget: 1,495,000 EUR

Specific Objective:
The reinforced CSC has promoted in DRC application of workers’ rights and increased wages through social dialogue for all workers - with special attention to workers in the informal economy and in Chinese companies, and with a focus on gender and the environment.

Strategy: Capacity Building
Results 1 (development services level):
1.1. CSC has activists who promoted rights of workers in the formal economy - with special attention to Chinese enterprises,
1.2. CSC has activists and union officials who promoted social dialogue in the formal economy - with particular attention to gender and workers in Chinese companies,
1.3. CSC has delegates who defend better the rights of workers in the informal economy
Result 2 (at organizational development level): The CSC has strengthened its financial autonomy
Result 3 (at institutional development level): The CSC has facilitated access to training and means of production of third parties in the informal economy of small businesses, animal husbandry, fisheries and transport in 5 provinces (Kinshasa, Katanga, Bandundu, Bas-Congo, North Kivu, South Kivu).
